Return of Leon’s Weblog…
There has been a significant lapse.
This blog was originally created to give wider access to the stuff I was writing about the effects of Katrina and Rita. I stopped writing when I felt that I no longer had anything of unique value to add to that conversation. Not that I still don’t have thoughts. It’s just that for awhile there I felt like I could actually provide something like valid journalism. And then I didn’t feel that way, so I stopped.
This is now going to be about other things. I hope I never write another entry in the Storm Posts category. I’m also just hoping that this will evolve naturally into something that I can’t predict right now.
Why now? What’s triggering the return?
Well I think the biggest thing is that I got a new computer. I bought a new black Macbook, at the Apple Store in Boulder Co on Halloween night. It’s running the new Leopard operating system, and I’m pretty pleased with all that.
Also, I’m leaving for a trip. I’m going down to Melbourne Australia. I haven’t been there in about 20 years. After two weeks there I’ll go to Japan for a week. I’ve been away from Japan for longer now than I ever have in my life. 6 years or something.
So it seemed like I should start writing my blog again and here it is.
Ta-da!
