Hello!
(I wrote this on September 14th, but I’ve changed the datestamp to August 29th so that it’s the first post in a blog that starts out with the Katrina stuff I’ve been writing in the last few weeks. Since I’m changing the timestamp on those posts I had to change this one to so that it would come first. I’m writing this disclaimer and changing the timestamp on September 19th. Are you confused?)
Welcome to Leon’s Blog. This is my first post. I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do with this blog, but I have the opportunity to do it so we’ll see how it goes. For someone with a lot to say, and who usually has more trouble shutting up than anything else, it’s strange to not have an immediate surge of stuff to write about.
Maybe I’ll create a fictional version of myself and use the blog as a diary of someone who doesn’t exist. Maybe if I do that for long enough, the fictional version of myself will become more real than the current version of myself who pretends to be writing this. If that’s going to happen, I better make the fictional version of myself devilishly handsome, rich, smart and charismatic, with loads of smart, wise, witty and useful things to say.
The interesting thing about this idea is that you the reader (as if there are any) will never know. The REALLY interesting thing about this idea is that I the writer (as if I exist) will also never know.
So in any case, all that being said, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Leon Ingulsrud. I am devilishly handsome, rich, smart and charismatic, with loads of smart, wise, witty and useful things to say…
How about posting your Katrina reports?
These have been vital to receive — thank you Leon. I don’t have a tv, so the radio and the paper and your letters gave me the picture I see.
You are handsome, smart and charismatic with lots to say — but hey I did not know you were rich too!!!! (cannot believe I have descended into this kind of chatter – my first real blog response and it all gets personal.
anyway, thank you for your on-the-street, in-the-midst honesty. glad you are ok and that Lovely Rita was a bit of relief
